Iran to invest $20m in Ghana’s private sector

Iran is showing strong interest in expanding the country’s relations with African countries including Ghana.

Iran which has a long standing relations in Ghana, and has a health centre in the country known as Iran Clinic is now stretching its hands to Ghana’s private sector with a $20 million fund.

A Tehran Times news report sited by ghanabusinessnews.com cited a Mehr News Agency report in which an Iranian official Behrouz Alishiri was quoted as saying that Iran is willing to cooperate with Ghana in trade and economy, implement technical, industrial and infrastructural projects, and transfer know-how.

Alishiri was reported to be speaking at a meeting with a Ghanaian delegation in that country. He said the Export Promotion Bank of Iran has allocated $20 million meant to expand trade relations between the private sectors of the two countries.

He promised that Iran is willing to share with Ghana the advancement that country has made in producing modern agricultural machines, medicine and foodstuff.

He indicated that Iran’s private sector is keen to carry out joint investment projects in Ghana.
