All fixed line phone numbers in Ghana have a new 3-digit area code. Following directives from the National Communications Authority (NCA), the new numbering plan set to international standards has taken effect August 1, 2010.
Vodafone Ghana, has therefore, changed all its fixed line area codes which also includes a new 7-digit for every fixed line phone number in Ghana.
Information on Vodafone Ghana’s website indicates that the change will apply to every fixed telephone line in the country.
The following are some examples of how the new phone numbers will look like: For residents of Accra, the new number will be 030 2XXXXXX. For residents of Kumasi the new numbering system will be 032 20XXXXX.
More details and numbering systems for other parts of Ghana can be found on the Vodafone Ghana website.
