Mahama to attend World Investment Forum in China
The Vice-President, John Dramani Mahama, will leave Accra on Friday, 3rd September, 2010, for the second World Investment Forum to be held in Xiamen, China.
The biennially forum, which starts from September 6, 2010 and ends on September 9, 2010, is a global forum on investment and development issues organized by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD).
A statement signed by Mr. John Abdulai Jinapor, the Vice President’s Spokesperson, Mr. Mahama will use the occasion to woo more Chinese and other foreign investors to Ghana.
The statement said more than 1,000 participants including Heads of State, Government officials and private business executives of global companies are expected to deliberate on the challenges and the opportunities that are associated with the recent global economic crisis and the ever-growing crucial climate change.
“Ghana hosted the first forum in April, 2008, which was UNCTAD’s twelfth ministerial conference (UNCTAD-XII). The second forum is being organized to coincide with the 14th China International Fair on Trade and Investment”
The Vice President is expected back on September 13, 2010, the statement added.
