Ghana stocks rise on banks’ gain
The GSE All-Share Index, the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, rose by 106.74 points to 7,082.84 points propped up by gains in banking stocks.
The rise brings the gains so far this year to 27.11 per cent.
There were four gainers during the session.
Gainers for the session were Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB), which was up by GH¢0.27 to GH¢2.60; State Insurance Company (SIC), which gained GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.41; SG-SSB Limited (SG-SSB), which rose by GH¢0.01 at GH¢0.59 and Unilever Ghana Limited (UNIL), which appreciated GH¢0.09 to GH¢5.70.
A total of 245,324 shares valued at GH¢411,398.32 were traded.
Market Capitalisation closed the session at GH¢20,061.16 million compared to GH¢19,978.69 million.
