Lecturer joins race for Asante Akim South NPP parliamentary ticket
A 36-year old lecturer at the Kumasi Polytechnic, Mr Edmond Oppong Peprah, has announced his decision to contest the Asante Akim South Parliamentary seat on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in 2012.
He promised to bring on board dynamism into the NPP, through the active engagement of the youth to increase the party’s share of votes in the presidential and parliamentary polls.
Mr Peprah made the announcement when he donated office equipment and stationery to the NPP constituency office at Juaso in the Ashanti Region.
The donation valued at GH¢6,000 included computer and accessories, printer, modem, executive chair and ceiling fan.
The parliamentary aspirant said the donation was his contribution towards the face-lift of the party’s office.
He said he was confident that the computer and modem would enable the constituency to stay in constant touch with the regional and national headquarters and ensure free flow of information.
Mr James Twum Boakye, First Vice Constituency Chairman of the party, who received the equipment, commended Mr Peprah for the donation and drew attention to the need for all members of the NPP to help maintain a solid front, ahead of the 2012 general election.
