Mike Oquaye Jnr picks nomination form for Dome/Kwabenya NPP seat

Mr Mike Nii Nortey Oquaye, a lawyer and an aspiring Member of Parliament for the Dome/Kwabenya Constituency, on Saturday picked a nomination form at the New Patriotic Party Constituency  Office amidst brass band music.

He paid a filing fee of 10,000 Ghana cedis in bankers draft and was issued an official receipt covering the payment.

Mr Moses Osei Fordjour, Constituency Party Chairman, informed Mr Oqyaye Jnr. that in addition to 10 people endorsing his nomination form, the form had to be returned by March 18 for onward processing.

After collecting his nomination form, Mr Oqyaye Jnr. went on a float through the main market street assuring his constituents of better living conditions when voted into power.

He said he would liaise with youth organizations in the constituency and groom them to take up leadership positions.

Mr Oquaye Jnr said he would create a viable communication network and construct a Senior High School with ICT facilities for the constituency.

He would also make sure that a health post and a police station were built to assist the community.

He said he would push forward the electronic voting procedure to prevent cheating and violence adding that    his doors would be opened to all constituents.

Mr Oquaye Jnr. is the third candidate to pick a nomination form apart from Lawyer Adwoa Safo and Robert Mensah Bonsu to contest the Dome/Kwabenya seat.

  1. JAE SMITH says

“where are we moving this country? So now outgoing Mps can now hand over over seat indirectly to their siblings? sadden and pittiful. Well i am not questioning the qualification of mike ocquaye, but we need a broaden minded person for Dome constituency. I personally livd in Dome and since the birth of my awareness to politics,, there hasn’t been any beneficiary laid down projects contructed by the SR him self. this is frustrating and highly confusing. Well we are all waiting to see what happen from now on”.

    1. I THINK YOU BETTER CHECK OUT THE MEANING OF SIBLING IN YOUR OXFORD DICTIONARY. THEY ARE NOT SIBLINGS THEY ARE FATHER AND SON SO THEN HOW CAN THEY BE SIBLING.
    2. MIKE OQUAYE JNR IS STANDING FOR THIS POSITION ON HIS OWN MERIT. IT ONLY HAPPENS THAT HIS FATHER IS THE IMCUMBENT MP AND I DONT THINK THE OQUAYE FAMILY BELIEVE IN A HEIRACHY BUT A MERITOCRACY.
    3. DONT YOU RATHER THINK, IF THIS YOUNG TALENTED MAN, MR. MIKE OQUAYE JNR IS CAPABLE OF FILLING IN THIS DEMOCRATIC VOID AND CAN MAKE A VITAL CONTRIBUTION TO THIS CONSTITUENCY AND THE REPUBLIC OF GHANA WE SHOULD RATHER ENCOURAGE HIM? I THINK A FEW IGNORANT, NARROW MINDED AND PROLIFICALLY CRITICAL PEOPLE SPOILT THE FUN FOR EVERYONE ELSE. INSTEAD OF YOU CRITIZING WHAT THIS YOUNG MAN IS TRYING TO ACCOMPLISH FOR HIS COUNTRY WHY DONT YOU ALSO STAND IN THE PRIMARIES AND IF YOU CAN’T DO IT THEN SHUT UP OR PUT UP.
    4. MY FELLOW DOME-KWABENYA PEOPLE, I LIVE IN AMERICA AND ITS SAD TO READ ALL THESE IGNORANT VERBAL DIAROHHEA FROM THESE PATHOGEN. VOTE FOR WHO YOU LIKE. MAY THE BEST MAN GET THE JOB. AT THE END OF THE DAY, YOU PEOPLE ARE MAKING IT OUT LIKE ITS A PRIZE THAT WILL BE WON; AND FOR YOUR INFORMATION ITS NOT A PRIZE TO BE WON BUT HARD WORK THAT WILL HAVE TO BE METICULOUSLY IMPLIMENTED WITH CAUTION OTHERWISE PEOPLES LIVES AND LIVELIHOOD WILL BE AT STAKE. AFTER ALL WE WANT GHANA TO MOVE FORWARD IN THE WORDS OF NKRUMAH “FORWARD EVER, BACKWARD NEVER” NOW THEN IF IT HAS TO BE A FATHER AND SON SUCCESSION THEN LET IT BE FOR THE COMMON GOOD FOR OUR PEOPLE.
    5. HAVENT YOU PEOPLE HEARD ABOUT THE KENNEDY’S, THE BUSH FAMILY ETC. JUST DO YOUR RESEARCH AND DO NOT EXPRESS YOUR IGNORANCE WITH WORDS.
