Chief of Defence Staff still at post – Presidency
The government on Wednesday emphasised that the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay, is still at post.
A statement issued by Mr Koku Anyidoho, Head of Communications at the Presidency, said he had not been asked to proceed on leave on any stated day and date.
“It is being stated for the record, as a matter of fact, and unequivocally so, that His Excellency President John Evans Atta Mills, President of the Republic of Ghana and Commander-in-Chief of the Ghana Armed Forces, has not written, nor caused to be written on his behalf, a letter asking the Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay, to proceed on leave on any stated day and date,” the statement said.
“Lieutenant General Peter Augustine Blay continues to be, and is, the Chief of Defence Staff of the Ghana Armed Forces,” it added.
