Students urged to develop self-control mechanisms

Students in secondary and tertiary institutions in the country, have been urged to develop self-control mechanisms to enable them avoid negative lifestyles and behaviours that could ruin their development.

They were cautioned against indecent dressing, prostitution and alcoholism that posed a challenge to their progress.

Pastor Francis Tuffour, Chaplaincy and Communication Director of the South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church (SDA),  issued the warning in a sermon at a day’s Zonal Fellowship, organized by the South Central Ghana Conference branch of the Ghana National Association of Adventist Students, at the Kumasi Polytechnic.

Students from the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Garden City University College, Christian Service University College, Kumasi Polytechnic, Akrokeri College of Education, Agogo College of Education, Komfo Anokye Nurses Training College attended the event.

Pastor Tuffuor asked Christian scholars to develop brilliant ideas that would help transform society instead of wasting their energies on frivolous things.

He advised the scholars to be honest and develop closer relationship with God.
