NPP group calls for political tolerance
Alhaji Ismaila Ibrahim, National Secretary of the Nasara Club, a wing of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has advised Ghanaians irrespective of their religious, ethnic and political backgrounds, to uphold the principles of peace and unity.
He said such values facilitated national development.
Alhaji Ismaila, who gave the advice when he met a cross-section of the youth at Akim Oda Old Town Zongo in the Birim Central Municipality, said no nation could truly develop in the midst of political, religious or ethnic conflicts.
He called on political parties to eschew backbiting and “struggle” for leadership, which he said retarded progress.
Alhaji Ismaila appealed to leaders in the Zongo communities to help to educate the youth so that they would not be branded as agents of destruction.
