200 students complete ICT course

Two hundred selected students, last Saturday, completed a four months free Diploma course in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), organized by Soul Food Ministry International (SFMI).

The students, made up of 115 men and 85 women were trained in computer hardware and networking, which forms part of SFMI’s social responsibility of building and making life better and worth living for the youth.

Speaking at the 3rd Graduation ceremony of SFMI under the theme; ‘Free for all IT training programme’, Pastor Eddie Letsa General Overseer of SFMI said, the course would help provide self employable skills to the students in the field of IT.

He said the ministry plans to provide training packages for other identified youth groups, who are not interested in IT, but have other career objectives, such as dressmaking, beauty and hair style related programs.

The General Overseer said the ministry hopes to train over a thousand people in various fields by the end of this year to help in national development.

Pastor Letsa appealed to stakeholders, NGOs and Ghanaians to support the project, to alleviate poverty in the country and to build a better Ghana for posterity.

He advised the graduates to be humble and always live exemplary lives. He wished them the very best as they get ready to start their career in IT.

Mrs. Ruth Akakpo, a participant, expressed her gratitude to the General Overseer for the initiative and assured that the knowledge they had acquired would be used to contribute to the development of the nation.
