Ghana needs oil and gas analysts to predict the happenings in the sector as Ghana has joined the oil producing countries of the world, Dr. Toni Aubynn has said.
Dr Aubynn who is the Head of Corporate Affairs at Tullow Oil Ghana, also urged Ghanaians to take advantage of the other auxiliary jobs associated with the oil sector.
Speaking at a meeting organized by the Rotaract Club of Adentan in Accra recently, Dr Aubynn indicated that it is not necessary for an individual to work with one of the Jubilee partners before becoming an oil and gas analyst.
“Ghana needs oil and gas analysts…you may not be working directly with the companies but you may be analyzing future oil market prices, working with stock exchange because you have a mark in the oil industry which the country does not have”, he said adding “It could be futuristic.”
Ghana started oil production on December 15, 2010 and currently producing about 70,000 barrels of oil per day (bopd). It is estimated that oil production will plateau at 120,000 bopd in mid-July this year.
The World Bank estimates that Ghana will enjoy the plateau from Phase 1 for five years from mid-2011 to mid-2016 and decline thereafter with field life of 20 years.
