The Bayern Munich Board of Directors and their Manchester City counterparts have agreed the terms of Jerome Boateng’s transfer to FC Bayern, an official statement on the club’s website says Thursday 14 July.

Jerome Boateng, brother of Ghanaian midfielder Kevin Prince Boateng of AC Milan, is expected in Munich for the obligatory pre-transfer medical shortly.

“He will then sign a contract binding him to FC Bayern until 30 June 2015. The player moves from England to Germany for an undisclosed fee”, the statement said.

“By signing Jerome Boateng, we are bringing in the player we wanted for the centre of our defence,” Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said.

Boateng played for Wolsburg before moving to Manchester City after the 2010 World Cup.
