Communities urged to release land for projects
Mr. Anthony Bassaw, Mpohor Wassa East District Chief Executive, has expressed regret that some communities in the area found it difficult to release land for projects.
Addressing the ordinary meeting of the Mpohor Wassa East District Assembly on Wednesday he said this delayed implementation of projects and in some cases increased the cost.
Mr Bassaw said the Assembly had decided that projects should be awarded to communities that make lands available for that purpose.
He appealed to members of the assembly to liaise with chiefs in their areas to earmark suitable lands for future projects.
“The Administration would not hesitate in recommending relocation of projects to communities who provide land and are ready to support contractors for early completion of projects”, Mr Bassaw said.
Mr. Bassaw said the Cadbury Ghana Limited and the World Vision International have approved the acquisition of solar lanterns for 20 communities and seven schools in cocoa growing communities in the district.
