AUCC, Ohio University sign pact
The African University College of Communications (AUCC), a Ghanaian private university has signed an international agreement with Ohio University of the US to share educational ideas.
According to a statement on Ohio University’s website August 10, 2011, the agreement incorporates student and faculty exchanges, study abroad opportunities for Ohio students and professional development for AUCC faculty.
The agreement was signed by Mr. Kojo Yankah, President and founder of AUCC and Ohio University President Mr. Roderick J. McDavis early this month in the United States.
“This new agreement broadens the scope of our student and faculty experiences and formalizes our partnership with AUCC,” Mr. McDavis said.
He added that Ohio will welcome its first AUCC graduate student in the African Studies Program
“We will have new education-abroad options for students, particularly for undergrads, and particularly for those studying in communication and business fields and Akan, a major Ghanaian language we teach here,” Director of African Studies at Ohio University Steve Howard said.
AUCC, a communications school was founded in 2001 by Mr. Kojo Yankah, a former member of parliament and a journalist.
