Another accident victim dies at Eikwe Hospital
One more person has been reported dead in the accident that occurred on the Axim-Mpataba-Elubo Highway near Samenye in the Jomoro District last Wednesday.
He is Emmanuel Whaja, the driver of the taxi cab that collided with an articulator truck, killing three women on the spot and injuring two others.
The Jomoro District Police Commander, Deputy Superintendent of Police John Ferguson Dzineku made this known to the Ghana News Agency at Half Assini.
He said this brings to four the number of people who have died in the accident.
The Police commander said Mr Whaja and an unidentified woman were rushed to the Eikwe Catholic hospital and the woman is responding to treatment.
Meanwhile the bodies of the three women killed on the spot in the accident have been identified.
They are madam Abena Konadu 50 from Ashanti Bekwai, Abena Akoto 66, from Aiyinase and Hanna Amable also from Aiyinase in the Ellembenle District.
He said the body of Whaja has been deposited at the Half Assini Government hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination while police investigation continues.
