Additional 6000 tickets for Ghana-Nigeria game October 11

About six thousand additional tickets will go on sale for the Ghana’s Black Stars international friendly with the Super Eagles of Nigeria scheduled for Tuesday, October 11 in London.

Justin Addo, the match organizer for the game, which was originally slated for August 9, told GNA Sports in Accra that 6000 tickets will soon go on sale to afford fans who were unable to purchase tickets in the previous schedule another opportunity of doing so ahead of the duel.

He assured fans and spectators that tickets sold for the game that was called off following days of riots in London will still be valid for the rescheduled fixture.

Tickets bought for the abortive game are still valid. About ten thousand tickets were sold and the remaining six thousand will soon go on sale in our quest to give supporters the opportunity to be part of this all important fixture.

“All complimentary tickets are, however, cancelled. New once will be issued in due cause.”

Black Stars will rekindle rivalry with the Super Eagles of Nigeria at the 17,000 capacity arena at Vicarage Road Stadium, home of Championship side, Watford.

Addo said even though the cancellation of the previous fixture cost his outfit, JV2i Consult financially, “I am happy to do the same thing all over again. Obviously I was disappointed but my credibility is bigger than the losses inquired.”

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) on Friday agreed to the October 11 date for the clash of ‘Titans’.

Ghana was scheduled to play Nigeria in London on August 9 but a civil unrest in most cities forced a cancellation of the game hours before kick-off following orders from the London Metropolitan Police.

The cancellation of the match was necessitated by widespread unrest in certain parts of England after Police became aware of a riot threat in Watford.

The last time both teams met in a similar fashion in 2007, the Black Stars thumped the Super Eagles 4-1.
