Man, 37, jailed for possessing narcotic drugs
A 37-year old John Eshun, unemployed, has been jailed for 10 years for possessing narcotic drugs by a Takoradi Circuit Court.
Inspector Bernard Annor told the court presided over by Mr Kwasi Boakye that on March 22, personnel from the Drug Law Enforcement Unit of the Police Service received information that, the convict and other were dealing in narcotic drugs at Kojokrom, a town near Takoradi.
He said the Unit moved to the location and on seeing the presence of the police, the drug dealers took to their heels but luck eluded Eshun and was arrested by the police.
A search conducted on him by the police revealed 49 wrappers of dried leaves, laboratory tests revealed that, the dried leaves were cannabis weighing 30.0 grams.
He was thus charged with the offence and sent to court.
