Wa East DCE inaugurates two school projects for two communities

The Wa East District Assembly has inaugurated two classroom blocks  for Goripie and Ducie communities as part of its education expansion infrastructure project in the district.

The projects comprising six-unit classroom block at Goripie Saeediyya Primary School and a three-unit classroom block at Ducie Primary were constructed at a cost of GH¢241,127.00

Mr Ameen Salifu, District Chief Executive (DCE), who inaugurated the two projects, commended the contractors for a good job done.

He said the two communities could testify to the fact that the “Better Ghana Agenda” promised by President John Evans Atta Mills Government was not a mere political gimmick but a reality.

Mr Salifu appealed to parents to send their children to school to become responsible citizens in future and not to push them into force marriages or exploit their labour.

He urged the teachers not to impart book knowledge alone into the pupils but also good morals to enable them to grow to earn the respect of people wherever they found themselves.

The DCE entreated the pupils to take studies seriously.

He said Goripie Saeediyya Primary school had been captured under the Ghana School Feeding Programme, adding that arrangements ware in place to get a matron to kick-start cooking in less than a month.

Mr Saddique Seidu said the interventions would boost enrollment and reduce school dropout rate.
