NCCE expands outreach programme on Constitution education
The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) is expanding its outreach programme on educating the people on the Ghana’s Constitution.
The programme would include community education on the importance of knowing the Constitution, formation of NCCE clubs in schools, drama clubs and would also encourage effective participation in the constitutional game which throws more light on the role of the constitution in national development.
Mr Jacob Gonez Adongo, Bawku Municipal Director for the Commission said this at the municipal constitutional game week that attracted students from the Bawku Senior High, Bawku Technical Institute and the Bawku Senior High Technical School.
Mr Adongo said it was the Commission’s vision that the game would help the students to understand their responsibility in school and improve their knowledge on issues pertaining to the development of the country.
Mr Leonidas Dakura, Assistant Director of Education in charge of supervision in Bawku, noted that the constitutional game was aimed at equipping the students with an in-depth knowledge on the Constitution.
He explained that it would enable them to have adequate knowledge of their rights and responsibilities as Ghanaian citizens.
He indicated that crime was on the ascendancy because most people were ignorant of their rights and responsibilities, as well as those of others.
