Kwahu East Assembly implements 103 development projects
The Kwahu East District Assembly and its development partners for the past three years had implemented 103 development projects in the various communities to improve the living standards of the people.
Many of the projects had been completed whiles ongoing ones would be completed by the end of the year to pave way for another concession early next year.
The projects, which were in the water and sanitation, education, economic and health sectors, were funded by the District Assembly through the Common Fund and Internally Generated Fund and Donor Agencies.
Mr Samuel Asamoah, District Chief Executive, announced this during the inauguration of some projects for the Kwahu Tafo Islamic Kindergarten, Primary and Junior High Schools estimated at GH¢63,000.00.
Mr Asamoah also inaugurated a three unit-classroom block and an eight-seater place of convenience estimated at GH¢98,000 for the Kwahu Tafo Senior High School.
He said the provision of educational facilities were significant in the government’s socio-economic development which remained an important component of the government vision of developing the human resource for national development.
Mr Asamoah said apart from physical infrastructure, the district was also benefiting from major government intervention programmes such as the School Feeding Programme, which had been increased by 100 percent.
Mr Karim Ibrahim, Headmaster of the Islamic Junior High School, commended the assembly for the provision of the infrastructure for the school.
Nana Baffour Awuah, District Director of Education, advised Muslims to send their children to school and appealed to Islamic non-governmental organizations to contribute towards the maintenance and running of Islamic education in the country.
