Ghana handed delicate draw for 2012 Nations Cup
Ghana’s Black Stars has been handed a delicate draw for next year’s African Cup of nations to be co-hosted by Gabon and Equatorial Guinea.
The draw conducted by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) in Malabo, Equatorial Guinea pitted Ghana alongside, Botswana Mali and Guinea in Group D.
Tagged tournament favorites for the biannual gathering, the Black Stars, silver medalist at the last competition in Angola in 2010 will open their tourney account against debutants, Botswana.
The game against Botswana billed for Franceville on Tuesday January 24, takes place three days after the three-week long tournament commences.
Ghana plays West African rivals, Mali four days on before concluding the group with a tie against Guinea on February 1.
The final tournament will be held from January 21 to February 12, 2012.
The Black Stars, four-time champions are among the seven former winners chasing the title Egypt won in 2010.
