Starbow commences Takoradi service
Dr Brock Friesen, Co-Chief Executive Officer of Starbow, a flight service has announced expansion of its operations, which had exceeded its targets in Ghana.
“We have exceeded our business plans. For instance, on the Kumasi route we expected 50 per cent but we are now approaching 70 per cent while the Tamale service, which started just a few days ago, was about 50 per cent. Flights to Kumasi are always full,” he said.
Dr Friesen was speaking to journalists when Starbow commenced its service to Takoradi on Tuesday. The airline took some reporters as well as businessmen and passengers on their first commercial flight to the city.
He said Starbow had also increased the number of people who fly rather than take passengers from the other domestic airlines with competitive fares.
He said promotional fares would be rolled out by next week.
Dr Friesen said interest in Starbow’s flights was very high in Takoradi from business people and oil companies and pledged the airlines commitment to delivering the best service.
The flight, which took about 50 minutes to and fro, was very smooth, a feat confirmed by some of the passengers on board.
The airline would fly from Accra to Takoradi every Monday to Friday. This would be increased to seven days when business picks up.
