SSNIT takes defaulting 27 managing directors to court

The Accra Circuit Court has issued bench warrants for the arrest of managing directors (MDs) and heads of 27 institu­tions and companies for allegedly default­ing in the payment of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) contri­butions of their employees.

The defaulters have allegedly also refused to fulfil negotiated terms between them and SSNIT for the settlement of their indebtedness, amounting to GH¢605,513.91.

The refusal of the defaulters to pay the SSNIT contributions of their staff contra­venes the National Pension Act of 2008, Act 766, which empowers SSNIT to institute criminal charges against them.

Among the personalities to be dragged to the court presided over by Ms Georgina Mensah-Datsa, are Mr Steve K. Amoafo, the Managing Director of IKAM Ltd, who tops the list with GH¢338,947.58, with another company under Mr Marfo’s supervision, Megastar Limited, expected to cough up GH¢14, 496. 88; Joseph Akoto Lamptey, Immaculata Preparatory School, GH¢9,622.95; Emmanuel Annor, Eankrow Construction and Engineering, GH¢6,153.50; Samuel Nii Tackie, Tack Farms Ltd, GH¢17,641.75; Absalom Ocansey, Proprietor, Sunset School, GH¢2,309.03; Mark Ameyaw, Wencon Consultancy, GH¢12,309.03; Ibrahim Sulemana, WDP GH, GH¢3815.04, and WDP Construction, GH¢4825.11; Fredrick Quaynor, Trackline Financial Services, GH¢3,264.75.

Others are Nana Kobina Essuman, Platinum Kobbs Security GH¢43,098.14; Edwin Aryeetey, GH¢6,179.70; Kingsley Agyeman, Quickfit Services Ltd, GH¢13,766.57; Edmund Tortor, Eton School Complex, GH¢3,709.83; Seth Adu Asare, Niime ICT Solutions, GH¢l, 927.49; David Somuah, Pacific Trust (Ghana) Ltd, GH¢413.2; Refhold Allotey Pappoe, Zuriel Refrigeration and Electrical Engineering, GH¢2,433.80; Roger F.A.
