SSNIT educates nearly 1000 contributors
More than 800 contributors to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) Pension Scheme have ended a two-day “Customer Clinic” at the Ajumako the Central Region.
It was organised by the Asikuma-Odoben-Brakwa Area Office of the SSNIT, headed by Mrs Josephine Ofosu Affum.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency, the Area Manager said the aim was to educate contributors thus giving them an overview of the Scheme and explaining the processes of issuing statements to contributors and updating of records while the beneficiary is less than 72 years.
She said the clinic offered contributors the opportunity to relay their problems such as the loss of ID Cards and the mode of replacing them and rectifying or making changes where necessary on beneficiary forms.
Mrs Ofosu Affum said the exercise is ongoing nationwide and advised contributors who had not yet met the officials to call at any SSNIT office nationwide for the requisite advice.
She called on pensioners who are 72 years and above to complete their life certificate forms on January and July every year at the nearest SSNIT Office to ensure continuous monthly remittance of their pension allowance.
