Ghana League Clubs Association postpones election indefinitely

Election of executives unto the Executive Board of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA) has been postponed indefinitely.

The League Clubs’ welfare body was expected to go to the polls on December 14 before the latest development.

Karim Kudayah, Acting Administrative Manager of GHALCA in a statement copied to the GNA Sports said the decision was in response to a request for a meeting with the Interim Management Committee (IMC) by the Regional Football Association (RFA) Chairmen to resolve certain outstanding issues before the elections.

“Also, due to a further request for postponement by Berekum Chelsea on stated grounds and other matters arising, the GHALCA Executive Council elections has been postponed indefinitely,” the statement added.

Meanwhile, GHALCA will hold an emergency meeting on Thursday, December 15 at the Media Centre of the Accra Sports Stadium.

Seventeen persons filed to contest for positions unto the GHALCA Executive Council as at the deadline of December 5.
