Let’s work together to bring progress – Ashanti Regional Minister
Dr Kwaku Agyemang-Mensah, Ashanti Regional Minister, has urged all Ghanaians to accept to live in peace and work together to bring socio-economic progress.
He said they should avoid pettiness, intolerance and other negative attitudes that tend to hold the society back.
Dr Agyemang-Mensah said these in an address read for him at a colourful durbar at Asuhyiae to mark the first anniversary of the installation of the chief, Nana Owusu Oduro II.
He said there could hardly be any meaningful development where the people chose to be hostile towards one another and refused to cooperate and urged the people to have faith in the government and stand solidly behind it as it worked hard to bring jobs and create wealth for them.
The District Chief Executive, Mr David Addai Amankwah, announced plans to build a police station in the town to promote and strengthen security in the area saying the Dwaaho-Asuhyiae-Krakosua road would also be put into good shape to allow for easy transportation of food crops to the marketing centres.
He encouraged the people who are predominantly farmers to give priority to the education of their children adding that this was the best investment they could think of for their kids.
Nana Oduro appealed to the government to speed up work on a bailey bridge being constructed on the Asuhyiae-Acherensua road.
