Accra Bourse Index falls on Ecobank Transnational loss
The GSE-Composite Index (GSE-CI), the benchmark measure of performance of the Ghana Stock Exchange, continues its downward trend down 7.91 points to close at 964.59 points from 972.50 points.
The fall brings the year-to-date loss to 3.54 per cent.
The GSE-Financial Stocks Index (GSE-FSI), which tracks the performance of listed financial stocks, also went down 14.07 points to 859.23 points from 873.31 points with a year-to-date change of negative 14.08 percent.
Three companies experienced price changes- two down and one appreciation.
Standard Chartered Bank was the sole gainer up GH¢0.01 to GH¢45.48.
On the flip side, Ecobank Transnational Incorporated fell GH¢0.01 to close at GH¢0.10 cedis and CAL Bank dropped GH¢0.01 to GH¢0.23.
Market Capitalization closed the session lower at GH¢47,064.74 million.
A total of 341,212 shares changed hands, valued at GH¢310,765.24.
