Lack of unity affecting NDC chances in 2012 elections – Aspirant

Ms Rachel Nana Adwo Appoh, Gomoa East NDC Parliamentary Aspirant, has said lack unity among members in the constituency is gradually affecting chances of the party to retain the seat in the 2012 election.

She said the party was facing numerous problems including fighting with the District Chief Executive among others which is not in the interest of the party.

Madam Appoh appealed to the hierarchy of the party both at the regional and national levels to intervene to enable the party become attractive to the people, especially floating voters.

Speaking to the reporters at Gomoa Aboso after declaring her intention to contest the parliamentary primary, Ms Appoh said it was time for Gomoa East District to come out from its numerous challenges.

Ms Appoh said the constituency was behind development since 1992 and there was the need for the party supporters to rally behind the District Chief Executive and others to facilitate development.

According to her this could be achieved when there is absolute peace and harmony.

The Parliamentary Aspirant said the constituency had experienced five continuous male Parliamentarians since 1992 and expressed the hope that this time the people would try a female.

“It is time for women in the constituency to pick up the challenge to intervene to alleviate the suffering of the people,” she said.

Ms Appoh said she is committed to provide good leadership and would cooperate with chiefs, NGOs, the District Assembly and other development partners to develop the constituency.

She said she would educate the people on the importance of education, especially girls.
