Construction on 15-kilometre Nyamiani-Beposo road starts
The Energy Minister, Dr Joseph Oteng-Adjei, has cut the sod for work to start on the 15-kilometre Nyamiani-Junction-Beposo road in the Bosomtwe District.
The project is being funded by the government and is expected to be completed within six months.
Three local contractors are undertaking the job, which involves tarring.
Dr Oteng-Adjei underlined the determination of the Mills’ Administration to ensure that no part of the nation was denied its fair share of development.
The successful completion of the road would not only end the nightmare travelers go through but allow for easy transportation of food and cash crops to marketing centres.
The Minister told the contractors to see to it that there was value for money, pointing out that, shoddy work would not be accepted.
He encouraged people in the communities to cooperate with the contractors for smooth implementation of the project.
Dr Oteng-Adjei, who is the ruling party’s parliamentary candidate for the area, called on voters to give their votes to people who could bring development to them.
The District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area, Mr Edward Nti-Berko, said the assembly would support communities that initiated self-help projects.
He also advised the people to pay their rates and taxes to enable the Assembly to generate more revenue to provide them with the needed social amenities and infrastructure.
Nana Kwabena Sarfo, the Chief, said they were grateful to the government for the road project.
