NDC Regional Chairman calls for united front for Election 2012

Mr Kwabena Ade Coker, Greater Accra Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Party (NDC) has appeal to the rank and file of the party to eschew factors that pose a threat to unity and cohesion.

He stressed that the longer the party stays in power the better for it to continue with its developmental agenda and this could be materialised when there is internal peace and unity among party members.

Mr Coker was speaking at a fund raising party for Kwahuman Congress as part of activities to climax 2011 in Accra.

He cautioned the youth of the party to respect the elders and refrain from attacks on NDC members which changes government focus on the development agenda.

Mr Coker appealed to party members support the NDC to ensure effective organisation, which he believes is a necessary requirement for victory in the 2012 General Election.

He expressed optimism that the NDC would win the impending Presidential and Parliamentary elections because of the successes chalked out by the ruling party for the past three years in power.

Mr Opoku Afreh, former Chairman of Kwahuman Congress, said the body is a non-governmental organisation funded in 1993 through internally generated resources, although it is opened to NDC faithful who believe in the ideals and values of the party.

He noted that the aim of the Congress is to supplement government efforts in the development of the Kwahu State.

Mr Afreh said the Congress had mobilised resources both financial and materially to support needy constituencies such as Abetifi and Ayawaso Central with items such as bicycles and megaphones.

Mr Emile Missodey, Chairman of Kwahuman Congress said proceeds of the fundraising would be used to support the NDC campaign strategy in Kwahu.

He said the Congress is not confined to a particular ethnic group but for all who believe in the NDC principles.

He appealed to the District Chief Executives from the Kwahu enclave to interact with their counterparts in Accra and Kumasi on the activities of the various taskforce in the two metropolis that tend to jeopardise the businesses of people from Kwahuman.
