Some Ghanaians disappointed about performance of journalists at encounter with President Mills
Some Ghanaians have expressed disappointment at the performance of Senior Journalists and Editors in Monday’s Encounter with President John Evans Atta Mills at the Castle, Osu.
A survey conducted by the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Tuesday, showed that the people expected the journalists to ask pertinent questions affecting the ordinary Ghanaian and efforts by the Government to solve the high rate of unemployment, environmental degradation and sanitation, carnage on the roads and issues affecting transportation.
They expressed concern that most of the questions centered on the Wayome saga, STX Housing Project, cocaine turning into Sodium Bicarbonate, the President’s health status, achievements that would earn him a second term and his relationship with former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Some of the critics contended that the period for the encounter was too short to answer many questions, while others observed that some of the journalists seemed not to be adequately prepared for the encounter.
“They have disappointed us. Instead of speaking for the voiceless they spoke for themselves; our expectations were not met”, said one observer.
Others also commended President Mills for his answers to the questions, indicating that his performance showed he was on top of issues in the country.

Disappointment is an under statement, the whole thing was staged, and its a dirty shame….why the hell will i want to know the leadership style of a president who has just increase petroleum prices, whiles we have road accidents killing over 20000 people last year….traffic, dust, disease and poverty…..so its a shame and all those journalists who lowered their standards should bow their heads in shame….they are as corrupt as the police man who stops them for a few cedis….
