Armed robber arrested by Nsawam Police
Nii Amu, 27, a taxi driver at Nsawam, has been arrested by the police for allegedly attacking an articulator truck at Adoagyiri near Nsawam and taking away a mobile phone and GH¢200.
Supt. Samuel Buabeng, Police Commander in charge of Nsawam Police, said on January 7, the police heard of the incident and arrived at the scene but the other five robbers escaped and Amu was arrested.
Supt. Buabeng said the driver of the articulator truck, Musa Salo and his mate Abdul Ramwuh were travelling from Tema Harbour with second-hand clothes to Kumasi, but at Adoagyiri, one of their tires developed a puncture and hence the need to repair it.
He said when the driver and his mate were very busy replacing the tire, the robbers with knives arrived at the scene and took away the GH¢ 200 and the mobile phone.
Supt. Buabeng said the taxi has been impounded by the police and Amu would be arraigned before court whiles search continues for the other robbers.
