Court jails notorious criminal

Kwame Frimpong, 24, a notorious criminal at Dormaa-Ahenkro who had just ended a six-year jail term has been thrown back to gaol for another 14 years by the Dormaa Circuit Court.

He stole assorted items valued at GHȼ840.00 as well as a quantity of Vodafone and MTN credit cards whose value could not be determined by the complainant.

Frimpong pleaded guilty to unlawful entry, causing damage and stealing and was convicted on his own plea.

Inspector Bismarck Boye Lartey told the court presided by Mr Alexander Osei-Tutu that about 2000 hours on January 4, the complainant locked her kiosk located at ABB, a suburb of Dormaa-Ahenkro and went to church.

The complainant’s husband who usually passed the night in the kiosk detected that the facility had been broken into.

Inspector Lartey said a witness in the case who spotted Frimpong with the items attempted to arrest him but he bolted leaving behind a generator and a stabilizer

The witness bumped into Frimpong on January 15 around 1900 hours and caused his arrest. In a caution statement to the police, the convict admitted the offence.
