Lottery Authority asks police to arrest “banker to banker” operators
Dr S.G.K. Agodzo, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), has appealed to the Ghana Police Service to implement Act 722 and arrest illegal lotto operators.
He said this at the inauguration of a nurses’ quarters for the Agona Kwanyako Health Centre and a block of six classrooms and a computer laboratory at Agona Nsaba.
“We are doing our best to enforce the Act and the public should patronize only NLA products,” he said.
The NLA was among other corporate bodies that contributed towards the construction of the facilities through a request made by Brigadier Joseph Nunoo-Mensah, the National Security Advisor.
Dr Kojo Andah, Managing Director of NLA, denied allegations that some workers had condoned and connived with others to dupe the NLA with its draws.
He said some people who attempted to manipulate the machines somewhere last year were arrested in Akatsi in the Volta Region and appealed to their Judicial Service to expedite action on the case to serve as a deterrent to others.
