Gomoa East NDC executives caution members against going solo
The Gomoa East Executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) has cautioned its members against joining the campaign of any member of the party who decides to go Independent.
Mr Peter Essel , Constituency Chairman, made this known at a press conference at Gomoa Akotsi, in reaction to the decision of Mr Moses Jehu-Appiah, who intends to contest as an independent Candidate.
Mr Jehu-Appiah was among a number of candidates, who contested the primaries of the NDC but lost to Mr Ekow Okyere Panyin, the incumbent MP, at delegate congress held on January 21, 2012.
Mr Essel said any member seen in the campaign team of any candidate contesting as independent would be dismissed and an immediate election conducted to select a new person to replace him or her at the particular ward in the constituency.
He said the NDC members in Gomoa East would only campaign for Mr Panyin and Professor John Evans Atta Mills as their candidates in the December 7, elections.
The Constituency Chairman cautioned that “any activist of the party seen following an independent candidate ceases to be a member of the Gomoa East branch of the NDC”.
Mr Essel said the Constituency, Regional and National executives of the party have decided to honour hardworking and committed members and called on the members in Gomoa East to remain calm and stay focused as the party prepares towards maintaining the Parliamentary seat.
Mr Essel said the NDC had kept faith with the people of Ghana and must be maintained to continue the better Ghana Agenda.
