South Sudan becomes 184th ILO Member State

The Republic of South Sudan became the 184th member of the International Labour Organization (ILO).

This follows a receipt of a letter from the country’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Nhial Deng Nhial, to the ILO stating that South Sudan formally accepts the obligations of the Constitution of the ILO.

This was announced by the ILO on May 25, 2012.

South Sudan’s membership became effective on April 29, 2012, the Geneva-based ILO said.
