EC to hold bye-election in Wulensi on July 31
The Electoral Commission (EC) would hold a bye-election in the Wulensi Constituency on Tuesday, July 31.
A statement issued in Accra, on Tuesday, by Mr Kwadwo Sarfo Kantanka, Deputy Chairman (Operations) of the EC, said the Commission would take nominations for the by-election on Tuesday, July 3, and Wednesday, July 4, at the Wulensi District Office of the Commission between 0800 hours and 1230 hours and 1330 hours and 1700 hours.
It said nomination forms may be obtained from the Wulensi District Office of the Commission at or at the Northern Regional Office of the Commission at Tamale.
The statement said candidates for the election should provide two recent photographs (bust) with red background on the submission of their nomination forms.
“The filling fee for the election is GH¢500 and all interested individuals and political parties are to take note and act accordingly,” it said.
The bye-election is being conducted following the death of Alhaji Iddi Saani, Member of Parliament for the Wulensi Constituency.
The conduct of the bye-election is in accordance with Article 112 (5) of the Constitution, as amended by Section 3 of Act 527.
