  1. basis of order? says

Ramadan is not to be fasted “on the authority of” anybody. Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) ordered us to fast on sighting the moon and break on sighting the moon. the chief imam and other should tell Muslims the basis of their order for us to fast, other wise, their orders MUST be set aside or ignored. this is because Allah orders us to follow Him and the prophet (PBUH). we are not to follow any one in contradiction to Allah and the Prophet, lest, we stand as mushrikoon.
