President Mahama to set tone for political discourse in nation address today
President John Dramani Mahama will today deliver his maiden address to the nation.
The address would be broadcast live on GTV at 8 p.m.
It will be his first since assuming office on July 24, 2012, following the demise of President John Evans Atta Mills.
According to his Spokesperson, Mr John Jinapor, the President would use the address to thank Ghanaians for their show of love, support and encouragement during the “difficult moments” of the burial and funeral of President J.E.A. Mills.
Mr Jinapor said President Mahama would also encourage Ghanaians that collectively and with a common purpose they could move the nation forward.
Besides, he said, the President would set the tone on how Ghanaians could engage in politics with more civility and decency.
“The President will set the tone for the political discourse and the way forward,” he said.
