Farmers in Wassa East urged to pay debt of palm tree credit facility
Mr Anthony Bassaw, District Chief Executive of the Wassa East District Assembly, has called on farmers who benefitted from the palm tree credit facilities to pay their debt.
He said this is to enable the assembly to recoup its money for other development projects.
Mr Bassaw, speaking at the sixth ordinary meeting of the sixth session of the Assembly at Daboase, said credit facilities given to individual should not be seen as “gifts”.
He said the assembly was able to mobilize about half of the targeted revenue amounting to over GH¢50,000 adding that it had initiated a number of projects including the construction of district court, police post, staff accommodation, water and sanitation facilities and improvement in the road network among others.
He said the district now has an ambulance to aid in emergency services across the district.
