Ghana’s military acquires election 2012 vehicles
Brigadier- General Daniel Mishio, the Director General of Joint Operations of the Ghana Armed Forces, has said the military had acquired new vehicles fitted with communication gadgets to facilitate communication among troops during Election 2012.
Briefing troops at the 7 Garrison Exercise Bridget (Ex-Bridget) of the 66 Artillery Regiment of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) at Ho, he said the Military High Command was ready to ensure a peaceful election.
Mr Henry Ford Kamal, Volta Regional Minister, praised the security services in the region for the professional manner in which they handled the recent conflict between the indigenous people of Hohoe and the Muslim community.
Mr Kamal commended organisers of the programme that brought together the security services and the public to interact.
The Ex-Bridget is an important programme on the calendar of the Ghana Armed Forces which seeks to bring the various security services together to deliberate on security issues and also work as a team to see to the sustenance of peace in the country.
The heads of the security agencies in the Volta Region took turns to outline their plans and preparations towards Election 2012.
Mr Selormey Dogbey Adupko, Deputy Volta Regional Director, Electoral Commission, educated the security personnel on the roles expected of them during the election.
